GENERAL QUESTIONS
-
Property tax loans help Texans who are behind to avoid accruing significant penalties, interest, and legal fees on their delinquent property taxes. Your delinquent taxes are paid directly to the county, allowing you to make simple, affordable monthly payments instead of facing a large lump-sum.
-
Once approved, the lender pays your outstanding property taxes directly to the county or taxing entity. You then make monthly payments under an agreed repayment plan.
-
On January 1st, most counties will automatically place a lien against everyone’s property. This lien exists until the property taxes are paid or the property is foreclosed upon. However, when you authorize a tax lender like us to pay your past due property taxes, the county transfers that tax lien to secure your loan. Once you have paid off your loan, that lien will be released!
-
Though every county is different, if your property taxes aren’t paid before February 1st, there will be a 7% increase in your total tax bill. From there, additional penalties, interest, attorney fees, and court costs can build each month, increasing the total amount owed to as much as 47% within the first year.
-
Yes. In Texas, a taxing entity can foreclose on your property after taxes become delinquent. A property tax loan can help prevent foreclosure by paying those taxes off.
